The Crystal Dynamics Studio shocked their fanbase by releasing the “Marvel’s Avengers” video game demo several hours earlier than anticipated. Crystal Dynamics first confirmed that their Avengers demo would be formatted with “Closed Access”. Purchasing the Pre-Order for this game was initially required to experience the demo. However, Crystal Dynamics confirmed on August 7th that the Avengers demo had released worldwide for the PlayStation4. This information was released through their Twitter account.
Those that’ve purchased Marvel’s Avengers before it’s release date can take command of these infamous superheroes today. These five iconic characters will work towards regaining public trust, which was lost after a horrific event caused the San Francisco Bridge to collapse & thousands to die. Though Marvel fans highly anticipate this storyline, those that’ve tested the demo have expressed mixed feelings towards the gameplay. The mechanics feel the last generation & could prompt substantial failure behind Marvel’s 2nd entry into their video game universe.
Players worried about the gameplay can download the demo & make an accurate decision on if purchasing this title if worth the $100.00 price tag. Releasing the demo worldwide could prove a cynical marketing strategy for Crystal Dynamics. It should be mentioned that the Avengers demo for Xbox One & the PC is arriving by August 14th. A second demo will also be internationally released on August 23rd. It’d evident that Crystal Dynamics is trying to garner excitement behind the gameplay, which to date has been minimal.

Implementing Spider-Man into the PS4 version of Marvel’s Avengers makes it almost an exclusive title for the console. Gamers will likely purchase this version to receive a core Avengers experience, with Spider-Man playing an integral role in the superhero group. Crystal Dynamics plans to release more details regarding the exclusivity of Spider-Man on August 25th.
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced countless sporting tournaments into cancellation, even extending towards eSports. Guests-in-Attendance weren’t permitted to ensure the safety of employed personnel. There’s been considerable speculation regarding when eSports Tournaments would allow guests to return, with the 1st being announced on August 1st. Riot Games confirmed that they’re hosting the “League of Legends 2020 World Championship”.
It’ll be held in Shanghai between September 25th to October 31st at the Pudong Soccer Stadium. One site has been selected instead of the standard seven, allowing Riot Games to control the safety of their environment better. It’s unknown if international visitors will receive permission to attend this Chinese venue, with most nations not allowing for their civilian’s admission to purchase international flight tickets.
Riot Games clarified that the initial stages of this tournament wouldn’t permit audiences in-attendance. Local guidelines in Shanghai aren’t allowing for civilian personnel to attend largescale venues until October 1st. Riot Games emphasized that under these local guidelines, they’ll not allow for public attendance until the Finals. Tickets will be sold under the pretence that guests obey all social distancing measures.
An official statement from Riot Games evoked that their following Shanghai’s Centre of Disease Control, while also maintaining delegations with the Chinese Communist Party. This is to guarantee the safety of those attending the finals & employed personnel. Considering that China is the initial outbreak location of COVID-19, multiple high-profile names in the video game industry have expressed their discontent with Riot Games decision to launch the 1st eSports Tournament of 2020.
Follow the Leader
Inside sources with Riot Games mentioned that their mentality follows similarly to Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, and the National Basketball Association. All three sporting entities have restarted their 2020 Seasons, quarantining anyone that’s contracted with COVID-19. Riot Games believes that the “Bubble Strategy” is enough to guarantee the safety of active personnel, gamers that compete in this tournament, and the inevitable guests.
Riot Games is most likely incorrect about their assessment. It should be clarified that the “Chinese League of Legends Pro League” is still suspended from maintaining in-person venues, causing numerous gamers to question their safety is competing in the 2020 Championships.
The Microsoft Company have announced a highly anticipated reboot from one of their most beloved franchises in history. The Fable franchise is returning for a 4th instalment on Xbox’s next-generation console, with an additional benefit of PC Support from the launch date. Crafting the Fable reboot is Playground Games, a developer that’s never entered the MMO Genre before. They’re primarily known for the Forza Horizon franchise.
Details regarding the visual aesthetic, gameplay, storyline, characters, and countless other attributes were kept secret during the reveal. Fable’s trailer is cinematic & doesn’t centre around core aspects characteristics with the franchise. Instead, a fairy is seen passing-by a frog. This gives zero insight into what Playground Games iteration of the Fable franchise will look. It provides clarification that the development period for this game isn’t remotely close to being finished. Rumours suggest that 2022 will be the closest launch date for Fables reboot, most likely extending towards 2023 with anticipated delays following the coronavirus.
Video game analysts have expressed their surprise & disappointment with the selection of Playground Games to develop Fable’s reboot. They’ve never designed a core franchise for the Xbox Company, with Forza Horizon always having been a “Spin-Off Series”. Another concerning factor for analysts and supporters is that Playground Games is also developing “Forza Motorsport” for the Xbox Series X.
Two games in development at the same studio often spell disaster for one of those titles. Considering that Playground Games have experience in the racing genre, it’s understandable to have concern for the Fable reboot. Online threads from supporters of this franchise have expressed similar sentiments to analysts, which means Playground Games has much to prove.
Upcoming Games for Xbox Series X
The Microsoft Company held its yearly announcement venue, confirming all upcoming games for the Xbox One & Xbox Series X. The two biggest titles announced included “Halo: Infinite” and “Forza Motorsport”. Fable’s reboot was the final announcement from Microsoft, supporting minimal hype because of little details seen throughout the trailer. It’s suspected that Halo: Infinite will release before Fable’s 4th instalment, which Playground Games claims will revolutionize the series to new heights.
Few corporations exceed the fortitude & strength of Amazon, with their presence felt across numerous industries. Amazon has become a formidable player throughout the entertainment industry, creating TV shows that’ve garnered notable popularity. Jeff Bezos hopes to repeat that success within the video game industry.
Amazon Game Studios was 1st founded in August 2012. Their first official game was “Living Classics” for Facebook, which garnered little popularity. Every game released under AGS hasn’t been well-received by critics, with all their previous titles to the exception of one being released to mobile devices.
Jeff Bezos furthered his investment into Amazon Game Studios in 2014, prompting the development of “Crucible”. That title wasn’t ever released & after six years is still in beta. History could repeat itself with their upcoming game, “New World”. This game was initially slated to release later this month after years of development. However, an official delay has been issued by Amazon Game Studios – Orange Country. An executive clarified that New World wouldn’t be released until Spring 2021.
The Studio Director for AGS Orange County, Rich Lawrence, issued a blog posting providing information behind this delay. He explained that testers had expressed there is minimal content outside the MMO storyline, meaning additional “End-Game” material wasn’t sustained in New World. Amazon Game Studios doesn’t want this game to fail amongst consumers, prompting the delay to ensure additional content can be added. This requires an extensive level of development time.
Alpha Testing Issued with Delay
Knowing that supporters of New World would backlash against this announcement, AGS Orange Country confirmed that those who pre-ordered their game would receive access “Alpha Testing”. The original version of the New World will be available on August 25th for two weeks. Afterwards, Alpha Testing will be terminated & consumers will have to wait until Spring 2021.
PC Gamers are known for supporting MMOs, which provide countless hours of entertainment & customization options. When New World was initially announced in 2018, the PC Gamer Community immediately expressed their fanfare towards this game. That fanfare has begun dwindling with the continued delays seen from AGS Orange County. An additional delay until Spring 2021 could see New World become less popular than expected.
The Isle of Armor arrived in Pokemon Sword & Shield for the Nintendo Switch in Mid-May. Since launching for dedicated fans, the popularity behind the 1st DLC in Pokemon history has increased by an average of 14.3% daily. Gamers are excited at the prospect that new open-world areas are supported in Pokemon, which became possible after GameFreak took positive attributes from the core game & enhanced them for the DLC. Storylines are hardly supported in the Isle of Amor, focusing more on the development of Pokemon Teams and Multiplayer Battles.
The Wild Area has grown tenfold, giving consumers hours of exploration opportunities. New Pokemon arrive with the Isle of Armor & allow for Pokedex Collections to increase. However, GameFreak won’t have included the full list of Pokemon until their 2nd DLC releases later in 2020. The Pokemon Company & GameFreak implemented this strategize to increase profits during their “Off Years” when new entries into this two-decade-long saga aren’t added.
New Islands to Explore
Pokemon Sword & Shield sent players to the Galar Region, a previously unknown location that supports dozens of new Pokemon. An extensive storyline is available with the latest entries into the Pokemon franchise, going beyond the norm that was previously established for dozens of games.
Basic storylines resume with the Isle of Armor, with players having to focus on the “Dojo Gyms”. These locations require multiple challenges to be overcome, with various battles occurring throughout the process. Defeating all opponents & hurdling over any challenge’s awards Kubfu, the latest legendary Pokemon. He’s combined with a Ninja and Racoon, supporting notable attacks that’ll rival the strongest Pokemon in Sword or Shield.
Defeating the main storyline in the Isle of Armor won’t take a prolonged period, with completion taking two or three hours. That’s because this downloadable content focuses more on the Wild Area, creating new locations for this open space. Instead of exploring forests & lakes, gamers are now taken to Wetlands. This extends to various caves and unique islands. Never-before-seen Pokemon are catchable in these new Wild Areas. Purchase the Isle of Armor today for $45.00 with Tax.
Adult gamers worldwide have rejoiced at leaked documents that indicate a 4th Crash Bandicoot game is slated to release later this year. Mistakenly announced through the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee, this new entry into the PS1/PS2 franchise is named “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time”. Descriptions regarding the game have also been released, with some speculating this title was digitally photoshopped to garner popularity behind the concept of a 4th entry. That’s because the description is shares similarities to the upcoming “Ratchet & Clank” game for the PlayStation5.
The description first suggests that Crash Bandicoot is exploring his home island during 1998, meaning worlds that players were introduced to during the PS1 & PS2 will be remanufactured for the PS4. Crash Bandicoot is exploring the Lani-Loli Cave when locating a “Quantum Mask”. Working similar to the Aku-Aku Mask seen in the initial trilogy, Quantum Masks allow for Crash to traverse multiple dimensions by creating Rifts. This enables the infamous Bandicoot to meet various new friends & enter new landscapes never-before-seen in this franchise.
Crash Bandicoot is created by Naughty Dog, a developer that’s exclusive to Sony Computer Entertainment. This means their games are available for PlayStation Consoles & don’t traverse over to other hardware. Considering that these leaked documents indicate that “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time” will release for the Xbox One, dedicated supporters behind Naughty Dog don’t believe this announcement to be genuine.
Some gamers suggest that Naughty Dog hinted towards the development of Crash Bandicoot 4, with Activision also teasing the existence of a new entry last week. Puzzles were sent to Video Game Reporters, with its packaging noting that the gift is from Crash Bandicoot himself. If these rumours are correct, then it’d mark the 1st time that Naughty Dog has sold their property to another institution. It’s unlikely they developed this title after spending years working on The Last of Us Two, which has received negative reviews from 150+ thousand gamers.
There is still hope that these leaked documents are genuine & that a 4th entry in the Crash Bandicoot Saga is returning. It’d allow Adult Gamers to introduce their children to a franchise that defined their childhood. Crash Bandicoot would also set Naughty Dog as a developer & PlayStation as a video game console.
The last several days has unveiled multiple announcements for the gaming industry. It included the Xbox Company providing details on the release date of their new console. That was quickly overshadowed by the Sony Computer Company, who gave gamers their first look at the PlayStation5. Upcoming games for the PS5 was also unveiled, with notable franchises like Horizon and Spider-Man returning.
Development firms working on title for the Personal Computer showcased their projects over the June 12th weekend. Most PC Titles displayed are being released to next-generation consoles, with the conversion process taking a prolonged period. One of the most highly anticipated & unexpected games announced at the 2020 PC Gaming Show was “Outlast Trails”.
Created by Red Barrel, Outlast Trails is connected to the two previous titles in this franchise. Taking place decades earlier than the events of Outlast One & Two, series supporters will learn critical details regarding key characters from the previous entries. Elements in Outlast Trials are altered from the original games, with Co-Op now supported with four players. Speculation indications that various multiplayer modes will be implemented, created similar situations to the “Dead by Daylight” or “Friday the 13th” franchises.
Red Barrel unveiled the announcement training for Outlast Trails at the 2020 PC Gaming Show, which is now available on YouTube. It shows a cold war surgeon operating on an awake patient. Creepy figures watch over the surgeon, who installs night vision goggles into the skull of his patients. You then see this player having to run through various corridors to protect themselves from looming enemies. Co-Op Characters are seen assisting with the escape, which often leads to both dying in a brutalized fashion.
The design of this trailer indicates that Red Barrel is following the mindset of “Dead by Daylight” for Outlast Trails. Subsequently, increased funds & prolonged lifespan of this game will be seen for Red Barrel. Details regarding the gameplay, release date, storyline, and availability to consoles wasn’t released. However, Red Barrel has commonly released their Outlast games first to PC. That’s because converting games over to next-generation consoles has proven challenging for most development teams.
DICE Studios confirmed that the 11th instalment in their original Battlefield franchise is obtaining its final update, which is adequately named the “Summer Update”. Trailers & Gameplay Details regarding the last update didn’t release as expected. This follows after DICE Studios announced that promotional material wouldn’t distract from the Black Lives Movement in North America, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. This movement became an international topic of discussions after Minneapolis Police took the life of George Floyd.
Announcing that promotional material isn’t being released means that Battlefield V’s final content drop won’t be received with substantial fanfare. It’ll instead be swept under the rug when Modern Warfare 2019 releases their 4th Season. This has been the conventional pacing of Battlefield, with this brand unable to match the stature of Call of Duty. It’s prompted rumours that suggest a significant overhaul of the Battlefield Franchise is being made internally at Electronic Arts. Refocusing this series for the next generation of consoles will allow DICE Studios to obtain popularity behind Battlefield again, which hasn’t genuinely been seen since 8th instalment of this franchise.
DICE’s Position on Racism
Developers at DICE Studios released a formal statement regarding the death of George Floyd. They mentioned their encouragement for all Americans to notice the racist conditions in their nation, which is prevalent not only in the States but also worldwide. DICE asked what’s possible for them to accomplish to assist the African American Community. Their remarks finalized by noting racism shouldn’t exist in the modern era, that families shouldn’t have to concern themselves with safety from law enforcement & the government. That individuals shouldn’t worry about their educational capabilities, career opportunities, or chances at housing. These are all realities that African Americans have experienced.
It should be mentioned that DICE & Electronic Arts have collectively donated $1 Million to the Equal Justice Initiative. Additional donations were also provided to the NAACP Legal Defence & Educational Fund. Funds awarded to these Non-Profits will assist African American in obtaining better lives for themselves. Readers are welcome to donate & select a charity that supports those affected by the George Floyd incident.
The Sony Computer Company & Naughty Dog have begun providing new details into the Last of Us Two, their upcoming Survival Thriller Game. These details were comprised in a 24-Minute Demo for the State of Play – Digital Event. Supporters behind the 1st entry will notice multiple similarities to the original, with gameplay mechanics being enhanced from the original to better associate itself with 2020.
Familiar gameplay is shown immediately in the demo, with Ellie having to hide behind cover from the infected. Sneaking around the varied & open environments of the Last of Us Two quickly become apparent. The landscapes are considerably larger than in the 1st entry of this franchise, with new gameplay mechanics including Swinging Ropes & traversing flooded locations by accessing local boats. Ellie is also seen swimming throughout the streets of Seattle, which has become flooded over the decades. This is something the character was infamously petrified of accomplishing in the Last of Us One.
Storyline details regarding the 2nd iteration of this franchise were provided in the gameplay demo. It’s known that Ellie recently turned the age of nineteen & now lives on her own in a protected neighbourhood of Seattle. Cascading walls protect the living from the infected outside, allowing Ellie to obtain a sense of normal & fall in love with her latest girlfriend. It’s then revealed that Joel lives within the confines of this neighbourhood, silently watching over Ellie to ensure her protection. Somehow these two survivors will come together again to solve the complex story regarding Ellie’s life, with her being the exclusive human immune to the virus.
Naughty Dog has enhanced the graphics in the Last of Us Two. Infected look realistic, providing a greater sense of fear when traversing a Hot Zone. New versions of these infected humans are being implemented into TLOU2, including the Shambler. This zombie-like creature will explode into a spore of infected germs that’ll burn & immediately infect everyone, except Ellie. Those wanting to experience this game can pre-order it today for $79.99. It’ll be released on the PS4 for June 19th.
Chinese Developers are familiar with the concept of stealing innovative ideas from North American or European studios. Video games like Call of Duty, Halo, Destiny, and Battlefield have commonly been imitated to identical levels. This was proven once again with another multiplayer shooter named Rainbow Six Siege. The Ubisoft Corporation announced that they’d implemented a lawsuit against Apple & Google, which follows after both their respective stores released a game that copies Rainbow Six Siege in nearly every manner. It’s an identical rip-off that won’t find itself in legal troubles. That’s because China doesn’t have to obey international property rights as a communist regime.
The lawsuit filed by Ubisoft against Apple & Google regards a Chinese-designed video game named “Area F2”. It’s designed by Alibaba, a mega-corporation from the Chinese Republic. All elements from Rainbow Sig Siege was ported over into Area F2. This includes Gameplay Components, Map Designs, the User Interface, Operator Selection, and Gun Classes. The primary difference between Area F2 and Rainbow Six Siege is their available platforms. This illegal entity operator through the Apple Store and Google Play, with Ubisoft’s shooter available on conventional consoles. This includes the Personal Computers, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
Lawyers contracted with Ubisoft informed reporters that both Apple & Google were informed of the illegal copyright infringements implemented by Alibaba. After waiting several days for a virtual response, the Ubisoft Corporation determined a lawsuit was necessary. It was filed through the Los Angeles Court System, with neither Apple nor Google commenting on these allegations. That typically means their most likely correct.
The Money Maker
Ubisoft earns a significant portion of their quarterly revenue through Rainbow Six Siege. This product has obtained more than $1 Billion in profits since launching in 2015. Their continued fanbase after five years shows formidable commitment towards updating this game. Ubisoft has continuously released new maps & content without any additional costs. The microtransactions available comprise of Arsenal Kits and Custom Operators. Profits for Ubisoft will slowly dwindle unless a sequel is released shortly. New consoles will inevitably be issued, and a 2nd Rainbow Siege will be required. It should be noted that Rainbow Six Quarantine is expected to release in Late 2020 but won’t follow the same format that Siege players are accustomed to.
